Vendor Spotlight: InBooze

InBooze products are consistently on our best sellers list, and it's easy to see why. The alcohol infusion kits come in a variety of different flavors and are easy to make, not to mention delicious! We got to speak with owner, Ashleigh Evans, about how she started the company.
Q: When did you  start InBooze?
A:  I started InBooze in 2018 when I realized people love to have cocktails, but were overwhelmed making them at home. I wanted to create an easier (and healthier!) way to enjoy your favorite bar drinks at home. I launched in October on Etsy, then I also had my own website starting in March. In the beginning, I did mostly local art/craft shows. My online presence didn’t really pick up until I started doing wholesale in 2020, plus a Buzzfeed feature about Covid Cocktails. It was quite an unexpected boost of sales and it hasn’t slowed down yet!

Q: Where did the name come from?

A: For months, I was really overthinking about what to name my company and one day, it just hit me. I was telling someone about my idea and I said, you just infuse your booze. Oh wait! INBOOZE.

Q: What made you want to start your own business?

A:  I was a blogger for almost 10 years and I was ready to pivot. Since I loved making cocktails for people, I knew this would be so fun to try out. I never imagined this would go as far as it has so quickly. Quarantine life made more people than ever drink at home and InBooze was a convenient way to do it!

Q:  What is your favorite Infusion Kit right now?

A:  Since it’s super hot here in Michigan right now, I am all about the Caribbean Rum Punch! My year-round favorite is the Spicy Margarita.

 Old Fashioned Drink

Q: Pick 3 words to describe yourself!

A: Creative, Funny, Hardworking

Q:  Where do you get your inspo from?

A: I love to be a mad cocktail scientist in the kitchen! I try different combinations based on my favorite cocktails and suggestions from customers. When I’m creating new flavors, it usually goes through 3-4 rounds until it’s perfect. My friends and neighbors love to taste test! The only thing I haven’t been able to perfect yet is the Mojito. Dehydrated mint is so tricky to work with!

Q:  What is your favorite part about the business?

A: I love to chat with my customers and wholesale stores and get to know them! It’s crazy how far word of mouth has taken InBooze. We haven’t done much advertising at all so far, it’s all been taking off from customers chatting with their friends and family.

I also love that I can have my family help me at work, too. Since everything is handmade here at our headquarters, I work long hours. My 4 kids all have simple tasks that they can help me with. Most stickers on boxes are put on by my 3 year old!

Q:  Where can people check you guys out?!

A:  The easiest way is www.inbooze.com. I’m also on Etsy and Faire (for wholesale orders). I’ve created a lot of videos on my Instagram (@InBoozeKits) to help with common customer questions or show new fun ways to use the product. I always say “InBooze your own adventure!”
